Terrific Twos Classes - Before Classes
Hi all,
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I truly miss everyone. Who knew when I said "see you next week" that would mean from my living room. The staff and I have been working so hard to keep you all dancing during this very difficult and uncertain time but am grateful for this technology to do what we love. If you haven't seen already, please check out Dance Connection's Instagram, emails, Facebook, for daily dance party, bedtime story time with a staff member, tik tok or video challenge and more. We do hope that it will help bring smiles on a tough day. Also, reach out to us and let us know how you are doing or if there are any dance challenges, activity ideas, etc. you would like to do and we will do all we can to make it happen. I am blessed to have and work along side the most caring, talented and dedicated group of people I know.
Now to get ready for our first day of Virtual Dance Connection:
It's ok parents, you don't have to dance with us unless you want to of course, but I do need a little help guiding them since I can't put my arm through the screen yet and guide them back, lol.
It will be best to start the class in gallery mode so we can all say hi to each other and when we are about to start dancing, change your screen to speaker view so they only see me so they do not get distracted by watching each other. When it is time to say good bye, go back to gallery view.
I will probably start with us all unmuted but then will mute you all so they just hear me and the music and not the background noise, then will unmute as necessary. If you have a question, you can raise hand and I will unmute you to answer it or you can write it to me on the screen.
Don't stress if you don't have all that is needed, we will figure it out together - it's new to all of us so let's have some fun together, laugh at the glitches and know that it will be okay. We got this!!
Some things you can use for props:
For scarf time - if you have a scarf, great. If not, any type of small lightweight material, towel, tissue, etc. will work.
For parachute time - a light weight throw blanket will do.
For tunnel time - if you have something to crawl through use that but if not, no worries.
For dance with a friend time - any stuffed animal will do
For drum time - if you have a little toddler handheld drum, use that, if not, a wooden or plastic spoon and a pot, bowl, etc. can work
For bean bag time - any soft small item they can hold and balance with will do
Hula Hoop time - if you have a hula hoop or something like it, use that, if not, no worries, we will hula wiggle with an invisible hula hoop
If you have any technical glitches, don't stress, it is all new and we will figure it out together.
I am so excited to be able to see you all later at 4:45 for our first day in our new way of dancing together.
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to email be at any time.
See you soon!!
Yours in dance,
Miss Mary :)
